Immanuel Healing for memories

This is from a facebook note I wrote several months ago. Try this sometime and it can really help. :)

"When traumatic, painful things happen to us, it can have lasting impacts on us. Fortunately, however, it doesn't have to be this way. Our Father God can heal our memories and our emotions if we ask Him to. The following prayer guide has helped many people in the healing of memories and I believe it has eliminated post-traumatic stress disorder in most or all people who have gone through this. It has helped me also, and you may learn something new about God, too. :)
Think of a time in your life where you sensed God was close to you. Remember how it felt (and focus on God being with you.) (Do this before proceeding further.)
Remember a painful memory where you didn't sense that God was close to you. (You may need to ask God for a clearer mental picture.) (Ask Him to reveal to you any memories of things that are the cause of some issue, like fear of something. You can ask Him where it comes from.)
Ask Jesus to show you were He was in the mental picture you have in the memory. He might have his arm around you, or he might be hugging you, or protecting you, or something else. (Don't try to imagine this yourself, just let God show you.) If you are having trouble seeing Him in the memory, try talking and praying with someone you trust, (like a friend, family member, pastor, mentor etc.), and ask Jesus what is preventing you from sensing Him there. Ask Him if you need to do anything first in order to see Him in the memory. You may need to go to a different memory first or do something else.
When you see Jesus in the memory, you can talk with him while picturing Him there, about the memory. (It should help to heal it.) (It helps to picture him there and focus on that long enough to think about that new view of the situation and to remember it. Notice His face, location etc. too, and any truth you may realize about the situation.)
Thank God for the freedom and healing that he gives you.
Most of this comes from "The Life Model" by Jim Wilder and other authors. Most or all of the info in parenthesis is mine or from other resources."
