Giving Thanks

A few days ago, I saw several Bible verses on giving thanks and being thankful to God. That's something I don't usually do.. but 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says,

"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

It's God's will for us to give thanks... in everything. I started thanking God for things. The next day was difficult for me spiritually, but late afternoon I was thinking about things to thank God for, and thinking about all the difficult things going on. I thanked God over and over for some of those things! I'm so thankful for difficult things in life because in them, we have an amazing opportunity to depend on God for things we normally wouldn't have to. We can sympathize with other people going through similar situations and encourage them.
